An artist's life is an unconventional life. It leads away from the examples of the past.

My artwork seeks to talk about the spiritual. I try to construct images that, as far as possible, do not need to be explained. I intend to appeal in the viewer the spiritual dimension throughout the use of different colors and certain materials. After a long time of research and testing I discovered that, among other things, the repetition of patterns in the plane allows me to achieve many of the things I want to convey.

Materiality in my practice is very important. I not only intend to construct an adequate image to highlight the spiritual, but also seek for adequate materials that are useful for that purpose. I found throughout my research that materiality is strongly linked to the spiritual since it is through our senses that we connect with this other dimension.

For some time now, I painted most of the time with egg tempera on chalk ground panels. I used this technique because of its natural components and because, in some way, I found that it is linked to the spiritual dimension I want to talk about. However, I am an artist that is always moving forward, looking for new approaches to answer many of my queries. Therefore, at this point, I started to explore painting with acrylic paint on bubble wrap. Using synthetic materials is a big change in my practice but I find it meaningful since the mate finish of the acrylic paint on the bubble wrap as well as the transparency of the bubble wrap itself, are both connected to the spiritual dimension, too.

My artworks are permanent trial and error tests, in which I seek, through a variety of patterns, colors and materials, to make visible what is often hidden and unseen.
